Our first full day at Walt Disney World 2023
Friday 23rd July 2023
After our travel day to Walt Disney World, we had a relaxed morning sorting out our Owners Lockers and repacking for the cruise. The great thing about having the lockers means we don’t have to carry 2 weeks worth of clothes for our 5 night cruise, and we can also leave behind our normal clothes and dress for Disney!
We headed to Magic Kingdom about 12.30pm via Disney bus and the journey only took about 15mins. I forgot how cold the aircon is on the buses. (Must remember to pack a light jacket!) Magic kingdom is just as magical as ever even without the 50th anniversary decorations. We grabbed a coffee and ice tea from Starbucks (£7.54) on Main Street had a wonderful wander through all the lands stopping to eat snacks and pop in the shops.
We didn’t actually get on a ride until we made it all the way around the park to Tomorrowland and headed for the ‘People Mover’ and then ‘Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin’.
We headed to see the new ride ‘Tron - Lightcycle Run’, which looks amazing. We did managed to get in the virtual queue at 1pm however our return time wasn’t until 9pm and we had a reservation at ‘Ogas Cantina’ in Hollywood Studios so wouldn’t be able to use it.
We left Magic Kingdom about 5pm and headed by bus to Hollywood Studios. As we had park hopper tickets we could change parks after 2pm without another ‘Park Reservation’. Each park offers bus transportation to all the other parks from 1.30pm which is really handy.
We made it to Hollywood Studios about 6pm and headed for ‘Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge’ via a quick ride on ‘Star Tours’. Ogas Cantina is still incredible. We had and an amazing server and within a blink of an eye it was already 8.45pm and the park was closing at 9pm. We sauntered through the immersive land, which really comes alive in the dark and got on our 3rd bus of the day back to the resort.
I know the Disney buses can be hit and miss with wait times but we didn’t have any issues and the aircon was welcome at the end of the day.
