Our 60 day booking window is here!

Today, Sunday 23rd April, is our 60 day booking window for our June 2023 Walt Disney World trip. This means that we can start to book restaurants and experiences. I know it may be difficult to know what you want to eat in 2 months time but if you want to experience a certain restaurant you need to think about booking it now before it becomes unavailable.

When you get to your 60 day booking window the app will go from showing your trip dates greyed out, to showing all the dates of your trip available to book. If you look at the bottom of the image it has changed from “can be made up to 60 days in advance” to “can be made 62 days in advance”. This is because once you get to 60 days before the first day of you trip you can then book dining for the entirety of your trip.

Once your dates become available you can select the number of guests and then the date and also which meal time you would like to check availability for, Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch & Dinner. If you scroll along you can also select a specific dining time.

Once you have selected a restaurant and dining time, you can click on the time and it will take you through to the reservation page. Remember you will need to have a credit card on file through your 'My Disney Experience app, you will not be charged unless you miss your reservation then you will be charged a cancellation fee. If you change your mind you can cancel any reservation 24 hours before without charge. Its also advisable at this point to add any dietary requirements to your booking.

Once you have made your dining reservation it will be added to your ‘Future Plans’. Here you will be able to update the reservation with the names of your party members, and if they also have the ‘My Disney Experience’ app the reservation will appear in their ‘future plans’

If you need to modify or cancel your reservation in the future you simply go to your ‘Future plans’ and find the dining reservation. You will then be able to either ‘Modify’ the date or time of the reservation or simply ‘Cancel’ it. Once you have cancelled the reservation it will disappear from your ‘Future Plans’.

Remember if you want to eat at a restaurant within a theme park you will need a ‘Park Reservation’ for that park on that day otherwise you will not be let in. If you can’t get the restaurant that you want on a specific date you can always keep checking the app, someone may cancel their reservation. You should also check the day before you want to dine as this is when most people change their plans.

Also don’t forget to check your transport options to the restaurant and give yourself plenty of time to get there.

If you want to book an experience like ‘Savi’s Workshop’ at Hollywood Studios, this is also available at the start of your 60 day booking window. Within the ‘My Disney Experience’ app you can use the search function to find the experience and then ‘Check Availability’. You will then be able to follow the prompts to book this additional fee experience.

Before your booking window opens make sure to spend some time researching the restaurants and additional fee experience you would like to do as part of your WDW trip. It’s a good idea to have a plan so you can make sure your ‘must do’ things are booked first.

We have 2, 60 day booking windows for our WDW trip. This is because we are staying for 2 nights before our cruise and then for 9 nights afterwards. We won’t actually be booking anything for these first 2 nights as we will be acclimatising to the weather and time difference and also re packing from our ‘Owners Lockers’ for the cruise. Our second window opens in a weeks time and then we will start to book restaurants and experiences. We will do another blog post talking about what and why in the coming weeks.
